Leverage Lab: Finding Uncommon Solutions To Common Problems

At Leverage Lab, values-led businesses are coming together to share their challenges and collaborate on solutions. As Sara Blenkorn, Leverage Lab founder says, “It’s easier to mitigate the risks and capitalize on the opportunities when you see them from multiple perspectives.”

Last October, we had the opportunity to take part in the inaugural cohort of Leverage Lab. Along with Recycling Alternative, Novex Delivery Solutions, Mills Office Productivity, and Frogbox, we were looking for ways to differentiate ourselves in our industry. Facilitated by Sara, our monthly meetings were spent creating solutions to our shared challenges. Initially, you might not think a same day courier, waste management service, moving boxes, office supplies, and promotional products would have that much in common, but we were all coming up against the same issue.

As it turns out, many hands really do make light work. After only four months, our group produced two shared initiatives that have the potential to grow each business. Airing your business struggles in a group setting can be uncomfortable at the best of times, but Sara quickly built trust within our group. As we transitioned from strangers to strategic partners, we were able solve problems that had been pestering us for months.

Leverage Lab creates space for company leaders to take a step back from the every day and come together to tackle a shared challenge. For more information, or to apply to the next cohort, contact sara@futurestrategies.ca.
